The Rotary Club of Shawnee Foundation organized under the laws of the State of Kansas in June 2014 as a not-for-profit corporation to carry on activities to support the mission of the organization. The affairs of the Foundation shall be managed by the Board

The Mission

The mission of The Rotary Club of Shawnee Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

Grants

The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation (501c3) supported solely by voluntary contributions. Grants and funds from the Foundation may only be granted or given to other 501c3 nonprofit organizations.

The Rotary Club of Shawnee’s Foundation supports semi-annual grants, sponsored by Rotary Club members, in the following categories:

  • families in need, including child health and education

  • natural disasters; and

  • international projects in conjunction with Rotary International. 

Annual Giving

Members of the Rotary Club of Shawnee annually pledge dollars to support the Rotary Club of Shawnee Foundation and Rotary International Giving. Friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world donate to the Foundation.

The Foundation supports the International Polio Plus campaign to eradicate polio around the world.

Each year, the Rotary Club of Shawnee Foundation awards up to three $1,000 Community Service Scholarships to high school seniors in Shawnee and approved feeder schools. The Foundation also manages the Dan Cook Memorial STEM Designated Fund which annually supports a STEM specific scholarship for a high school senior.
